Where is it? Vila Sol Vilamoura is located in the central Algarve, on the southern coast of Portugal in an area of natural beauty, filled with flora and fauna. The resort is quite far removed from the traditional Algarve resorts full of luxury hotels, privately owned villas and golf complexes.
Accommodation: There are a number of Vila Sol accommodation options available. The luxurious Vila Sol Algarve, Renaissance Hotel Resort & Spa is one of The Leading Hotels of the World and also one of The Leading Spas of the World. The resort has 140 rooms and 49 suites all luxuriously furnished in a modern European style. There are also six restaurants and two bars to choose from.
Vila Sol also provides 5-star Vila Sol Apartments. Each apartment is air-conditioned, has a TV, en suite bathroom and seating area. Larger rooms also have balconies, overlooking the pool or garden.
Alternatively you could try the three-roomed villas at the Vila Sol Village located in the resort, if you want something for the whole family.
Golf: The resort occupies 150 hectares in a stunning natural setting and golfers can enjoy a unique game surrounded by nature and wild flora and fauna. The course is 27 holes and was designed by golf architect Donald Steel. The course is divided into three golf courses ranging in difficulty from “prime” to “challenge” and “prestige”.
The resort also has its own golf academy, which is equipped with video equipment, four putting greens, two bunkers and a range of tees. You can book a course of ten lessons if you’re a beginner or specialised tailor-made lessons for more advanced players.
Other facilities: There are plenty of activities to try here besides golf and facilities include tennis courts, swimming pools, a casino, fitness centre, games room, hot tubs, cycle rentals and more. You can also unwind and relax in the first rate spa, featuring a range of massage and beauty treatments. Vila Sol even has its own Beach Club, situated on the beautiful Ria Formosa Estuary, not far from the resort.
