enthusiasts with a taste for adventure are being given the chance to kick off 2010 in spectacular surroundings.

BMW Off Road Skills Chief Instructor and seven time Dakar Rally competitor Simon Pavey is offering off-road enthusiasts the chance to get away from the cold and join him on a week-long holiday in the Algarve region of southern Portugal.

Customers will enjoy a guided motorcycle adventure exploring the mountain trails and roads near the coastal town of Vilamoura. Simon and his team will be running the tour twice in February 2010 on BMW GS and G-series bikes.

'The tour encompasses a mixture of riding: twisty mountain roads, fire roads, water crossings and beautiful forest trails. It's a dream tour for anyone that loves GS-style riding - both on and off-road,' explains Dakar rider Pavey.

"The route was inspired by a recent BMW Launch held in this same area of Portugal. I was fortunate to take part, and had such an amazing experience that I wanted to share it with other riders.

The group will be based at a luxury hotel near the stunning Vilamoura marina for six nights.

"Then over five days participants will be led by me and Off Road Skills colleagues along some of the best flowing roads and off-road trails I have ever ridden," adds Pavey. "It's a chance to enjoy five days of brilliant riding and then relax at great accommodation in the evening.'

Participants will fly directly into Faro airport where they'll be picked up and taken to the hotel. Riding will start on a Monday and participants will have the choice of riding a fully-prepared BMW F 800 GS, a G 650 Xchallenge or a G 650 Xcountry.

To take part, riders must have completed the Level One Off Road Skills or be a confident off-road rider.

The tour will run from February 7-13 and from February 14-20 at a cost of £1,500 per person. This includes motorcycle hire, fuel, six nights shared B&B accommodation, lunches, Off Road Skills guide, back-up vehicle, as well as return airport to hotel transfer.

It does not include evening meals, drinks or flights.
