The Malaysian team will hope for a good outing in the sixth round of the championship to close in on a possible top five overall finish for the 2008-2009 season.
Fairuz Fauzy
Malaysia are now in seventh place on 32 points in the eight-round championships.
Fairuz said that he was pleased to be back in the driver’s seat for another A1GP weekend and hoped to make up for the disappointing outing in South Africa in February where he started second on the grid but managed to get only one point in the feature race.
“It’s been a long break and I am eager to resume adding points to our tally, especially after the disappointment at South Africa where I had a good grid position for the feature race but it didn’t turn it into a good points finish,” he said.
The long break in competition was not a time for Fauzy to relax.
He started his preparations in earnest for his summer programme of racing in the World Series by Renault and completed three test sessions in Jerez, Valencia and Barcelona thus far.
